Say what a preview is
Why AI Vids names its Previews as simulated, what they do, and why that is the honest starting point for video from words.
Video from a sentence is the easiest thing to overpromise. So we start with what is true.
What the Previews are#
AI Vids has two default models, Preview and Long take, and both run in your browser. They paint real video clips from your prompt and a seed, using WebCodecs to encode a file. The clip is real, repeatable and quick, and it does not show what you described. It is a painted scene that leans with your words.
What they honour#
Your start and end pictures, exactly: frame 0 is your start picture, and for the Preview the last frame is your end picture. That makes them good for testing the chain, the timeline and the whole pipeline of making, stitching and saving, without a vendor and without a key.
What is connected#
Google Veo 3.1 and Kling 2.1 are connected in code. They run on the server and work only where their keys are set, and whether either is on for the hosted app is something we say we have to confirm. A real model will show what you described, within its limits, and will cost many times more credits a second.
How to use the Previews#
For animatics and mock-ups: timing, length, shot order, how the chain behaves. Replace the stand-ins with real footage or a real model's clips before anything goes out. Do not show a Preview clip as a finished result.
Why this matters#
If a tool lets you believe a clip is something it is not, you stop trusting the rest of what it says. We would rather you trust the timeline, the credits and the provenance.
Provenance#
Saving a video to Geenius OS Media keeps its story, every clip's prompt and length, the model and the settings, so a video later still says what made it.
A fair summary#
The Previews are real files and a real pipeline with a simulated maker. If you remember one thing, remember that: everything around the clip is built and works, and the clip itself is a stand-in until a real model is switched on.
